We comply with ‘LEAF’ regulations which look at the relationship between wildlife and farming.
Our farm policy is to encourage wildlife wherever possible and to farm sympathetically. Meaning we consider whether or not a certain process would be disturbing wildlife. We work around wildlife and spray only where and when necessary, and with the fishing lakes within the farm, we are a real haven for wildlife.
In the summer of 2007 we had 6 breeding pairs of birds from the ‘at risk’ category according to the RSPB. One pair was extremely rare. In addition we had many more common birds making the farm their home, including Lapwings and Cuckoos.
